The organizer of a Caledonia rally says it will go ahead on disputed lands this weekend as planned despite warnings from political leaders about the potential for violence.
Gary McHale of "March for Freedom" said he's expecting 20,000 Ontarians to gather Sunday on land occupied by Six Nations protesters to draw attention to what he described as two-tier justice in the province.
McHale said non-natives have the same right to be on government-owned land as Six Nations people but will likely be "racially profiled" and blocked by the OPP.
"I expect that the OPP will be in full riot gear to stop us," McHale said.
Premier Dalton McGuinty said yesterday that few people support the rally.
"The people of Caledonia don't think it's a good idea; I certainly don't think it's a good idea; the OPP don't think it's a good idea; the opposition (parties) here at Queen's Park don't think it's a good idea, so I think that, given that consensus, the best thing would be not to proceed with the rally."
Aboriginal Affairs Minister David Ramsay said he won't seek an injunction to halt the rally but he also believes it's a bad idea.
Conservative Leader John Tory said he cannot support a rally anywhere near the occupied land.

The Ontario government recently bought the land from a housing developer to help resolve a Six Nations land claim.
